BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (December 10, 2025) – The NEC unveiled its men's and women's swimming & diving weekly honors where Howard University saw a pair of Bison take home awards. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
Junior
Chanice Posada (Houston) won NEC Co-Swimmer of the Week while newcomer
Kaelyn Mitchell (Mobile, Ala.) grabbed Rookie of the Week.
Posada secured her third weekly accolade this season after posting a CSCAA B cut qualifying time of 57.98 in the 100 IM at the JHU Invitational (Dec. 5-6), hosted by John Hopkins.
For Mitchell, the Alabama native recorded a pair of top 10 finishes in the 100 IM (3
rd) and 100 Back (9
th). In the NEC, her mark in the 100 IM (1:03.14) sits ninth overall.

Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) and third-year Bison
Ameer Bashir (Hartley, Del.) made the NEC Prime Performers list.
LIU's Lara Wielkiewicz shared NEC Co-Swimmer of the Week with Posada while Central Connecticut State's Kaitlyn Carroll earned Diver of the Week.
On the men's side, LIU's Finn Drysdale and Mario Rodriguez Poulsen won Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
On Jan. 14, HU returns to action versus Towson inside Burr Gym Pool.
