BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (November 13, 2025) – The NEC revealed its men's and women's swimming & diving weekly honors where Howard University saw a pair of Bison recognized for their performances against VMI and UMBC in Baltimore. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 12).
Freshman
Solomon Goins (Dallas) won NEC Men's Rookie of the Week while fellow classmate
Kai Lawson (Bethesda, Md.) took home Men's Diver of the Week.
Goins, a three-time NEC Rookie of the Week recipient, finished runner-up in the 200 fly (1:55.00), which was the third-fastest mark in the league.
For Lawson, he won his second straight NEC Diver of the Week award after scoring 224.60 (3-meter) and 228.40 (1-meter).
Juniors
Rhanishka Gibbs (Nassau, Bahamas),
Mason Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and
Chanice Posada (Houston) and freshman
Alyssa Napier (Wilmington, Del.) joined Goins and Lawson on the NEC Prime Performers list.
Le Moyne College's Lucas Clay won NEC Men's Swimmer of the Week.
On the women's side, Central Connecticut State swept the weekly awards: Maggie Rutledge (Swimmer of the Week); Addison Kenney (Rookie of the Week) and Jewelle Mazairz (Diver of the Week).
Friday (Nov. 14), Howard goes to Emmitsburg, Md., to face Mount St. Mary's. First race is set for 2 p.m.
