Swimming & Diving Set to Compete in A Pair of Meets

Men compete in the NJIT Invite; Women travel to the Osprey Beach Blast Invite

WASHINGTON (October 9, 2025) - Howard University men's and women's swimming & diving teams continue their season this weekend with the men competing at the NJIT Invitational, hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center (BWEC) in Newark, New Jersey, while the women are set to race at the Osprey Beach Blast Invite, hosted by the University of North Florida (UNF) at the UNF Competition Pool Complex in Jacksonville, Florida.
 
The men are set to begin Friday (Oct. 10) at 4 p.m., and continue Saturday (Oct. 11) at 10 a.m. Those same days, the women are set to start Friday 6 p.m., and resume Saturday (Oct. 11) at 10 a.m.

OSPREY BEACH BLAST INVITE
 
The Osprey Beach Blast Invite makes its return from a one-year hiatus with last season's meet being canceled due to impending weather.
 
NJIT INVITATIONAL
 
At the NJIT Invitational, the Bison will compete against the Highlanders, Saint Peter's University and Villanova University. A year ago, the Highlanders won the NJIT Invite with 1,289.5 points.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
HU packed The Burr at Saturday afternoon's (Oct. 4) fourth annual Battle at The Burr matchup, facing crosstown rival Georgetown in the most anticipated dual meet of the season.
 
Both squads fell to the Hoyas with the women coming up short, 106-118, and the men falling, 78-139.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
Friday (Oct. 31), the Bison come home to host American University in a dual meet at The Burr. First race is slated for 6 p.m.
