TOWSON, Md. (January 15, 2025) – Howard University men's swimming & diving team came up short in its return to the pool, falling at Towson, 152-91.
Despite the setback, HU had three victories in Wednesday's dual meet.
Senior
Tai Afrik (Holland, Mich.) took home gold in the 100 Free, clocking in at 47.51.
Fellow classmate
Erald Thompson III (Nassau, Bahamas) placed first in the 200 Breast (2:13.71). Rookie
Mark Brown (Greensboro, N.C.) also competed in the event, earning bronze with a 2:14.69 mark.
Second-year Bison
Mason Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) won the 200 Free (1:42.97).
On the board, senior
Zay Swilley (Bradley, Ill.) had a pair of second-place finishes in the 1-meter (241.88) and 3-meter (240.97) dives.
Saturday (Jan. 18), HU gears up for a quad meet in Lexington, Va., hosted by VMI. First race starts at 1 p.m.
