WASHINGTON (January 14, 2025) – Howard University swimming and diving program returns to the pool after nearly a two-month hiatus at Towson Wednesday (Jan. 15) for a midweek duel. The action begins at 10 a.m., with diving events, followed by swimming races.

Entering Wednesday's showdown, both squads are 1-2 in dual meets this season.
Graduate
Tristan Stevens (Chicago) leads the men's squad, topping the Northeast Conference (NEC) in three categories: 50 Back (22.50); 100 Back (48.61) and 200 Back (1:47.66).
Senior
Darin Johnson (Atascocita, Texas) leads the NEC in two events: 50 Breast (25.66) and 100 IM (53.29).
For the women, second-year Bison
Chanice Posada (Houston) had a dominant performance during the fall with top times in five categories: 50 Back (26.08); 100 Back (55.30); 200 Back (2:03.08); 50 Fly (25.37) and 100 IM (58.19).
Junior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.), 2024 NEC Outstanding Swimmer, continues to be the anchor for HU, leading three NEC leaderboards: 50 Free (23.14); 100 Free (50.08) and 100 Fly (54.99).
TOWSON
The Towson women are coming off a fifth-place finish in the CAA (Coastal Athletic Assocation) Championships last season. Shannon Parrau finished fourth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 256.15 and Bridget Thomas finished fifth in the 1650 Free while Laura Gaffney placed fifth in the 200 Breast.
The men came into the new season after finishing third at the CAA Championships for the second straight season. Sean Colson took fourth place with a new program record (1:44.31) in the 200 Back and Luke Schwar finished fifth in the 100 Free. Sophomore Stephen McDonald placed fifth in the 1650 Free as a freshman.
UPCOMING SEASON
Saturday (Jan. 18), HU gears up for a quad meet in Lexington, Va., hosted by VMI. First race starts at 1 p.m.
