GENEVA, Ohio (February 24, 2024) – Howard University men's swimming & diving team took second place at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships, tallying 833.5 points during the five-day event.
The 400 Free Relay squad consisting of graduate
Arion Solomon (Fairburn, Ga.), senior
Spencer Miles (Lynchburg, Va.), sophomore
Taj Benton (Baltimore) and rookie
Mason Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) highlighted the final day, earning silver with a 3:01.99 mark.
Individually, Green and Solomon finished second (45.51) and third (45.60), respectively, in the 100 Free.
Graduate
Luke-Kennedy Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) placed runner-up in the 1650 Free, clocking in at 16:09.20.
During the podium ceremony, third-year Bison
Jordan Walker (San Antonio) received NEC Men's Outstanding Diver for the second straight year. The Texas native won the 3-meter dive (275 points) and finished runner-up in the 1-meter dive (255.90 points).
Wagner College edged out the Bison to win its first NEC Championship, producing 884.5 points over five days. Jasu Ovaskainen was named Outstanding Swimmer and Rookie of the Meet.
On March 14-16, several Bison will travel to Ocala, Fla., for the CSCAA National Invitational Championships.
