GENEVA, Ohio (February 21, 2024) – Howard University men's swimming & diving team widened its gap after Day Two of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships.
After two days, HU racked up 262 points with several Bison contributing to the 35-point advantage over second-place Wagner (227).
Graduate
Arion Solomon (Fairburn, Ga.), seniors
Tristan Stevens (Chicago) and
Mark-Anthony Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) and sophomore
Taj Benton (Baltimore) capped off the night with a third-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay (1:29.55), scoring 32 points for Bison Nation.
Individually, Solomon and Benton took part in the 50 Free where they finished second (20.52) and third (20.53), respectively.
Graduate
Luke-Kennedy Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) and second-year Bison
Ty Triche (Humble, Texas) combined for 32 points in the 500 Free, placing second (4:32.48) and fourth (4:41.81), respectively.
Another notable performance included junior
Erald Thompson III (Nassau, Bahamas) earning fourth in the 200 IM with a 1:52.13 mark, tallying 15 points for HU.
HU continues competition Thursday (Feb. 22) with prelims at 10 a.m., followed by the final round at 6 p.m.
