BLACKSBURG, Va. (September 15, 2023) – Howard University men's and women's cross country teams returned to action after nearly two weeks away from competition, competing in the Virginia Tech Invitational, hosted by the Hokies.
Overall, both squads finished sixth in the standings.
On the women's side, third-year Bison
Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.) led the way with a mark of 23:50.20 (31
st overall).
Sophomore
Jordyn Miller (Mundelein, Ill.) ran 24:25.70, which placed 42
nd on the leaderboard. Graduate
Breanna McDonald (Bethesda, Md.) rounded out the Bison, finishing 44
th overall (24:28.60).
For the men, redshirt junior
Wendesen King (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) was the lone Bison to crack the top 50. The Ohio product placed 32
nd overall, clocking in at 26:10.20.
Virginia Tech won both events. Lindsey Butler led the Hokie women at 21:34.40. East Tennessee State's Jason Bowers claimed the men's individual crown with a 23:54.60 time.
On Sept. 30, HU goes to Bethlehem, Pa., for the annual Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
