Dankwah Makes the 2023 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Team

Graduate lineman receives another preseason All-American honor

WASHINGTON (August 2, 2023) – STATS Perform revealed its 2023 FCS Preseason All-America Team, presented by FedEx Ground, where Howard University graduate offensive lineman Anim Dankwah (Ontario, Canada) made the third team. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.

Dankwah received his second preseason All-American honor after being selected to the 2023 Phil Steele Preseason FCS All-American Team Friday (July 28).

After starting all 11 contests a year ago, the 6-foot-8, 362-pound lineman earned multiple postseason honors, including 2022 Bluebloods All-Conference First Team and 2022 Phil Steel FCS All-MEAC First Team. Recently, All-MEAC First Team selection was named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 List.

Last season, Dankwah helped Howard earn a share of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship, its first since 1993.

Dankwah was one of seven HBCU student-athletes to receive preseason All-America recognition: Sundiata Anderson (Grambling State); Colton Adams (Alabama State); Khalil Baker (North Carolina Central); Patrick Godbolt (South Carolina State); Davius Richard (North Carolina Central) and Trey Wilhoit (Florida A&M).

In total, 107 All-Americans were represented from 52 institutions, including all 15 FCS conferences.

Howard is set to open the 2023 season against Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan Friday (Sept. 1). Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
