VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 24, 2023) – Howard University women's bowling team saw its 2022-23 campaign come to an end with a pair of losses in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament First Round.
HOWARD 0, NO. 7 NORTH CAROLINA A&T STATE 2
HU opened the tournament against MEAC Regular Season Champion No. 7 North Carolina A&T State.
In traditional competition, rookie
Sydney Allison (Ypsilanti, Mich.) put on a solid performance in her postseason debut, rolling a match-best 210 against the Aggies. Fellow classmate and All-MEAC selection freshman
Cameren Sullivan (Chicago) produced a 189.
Despite their efforts, NCAT edged out the Bison (825-817) and held an early 1-0 match lead.
In Baker total pinfall, North Carolina A&T State took control with a 950-678 victory and dropped HU to the elimination bracket.
HOWARD 0, UAB 2
Howard faced UAB in the elimination round.
In traditional play, UAB grabbed the upper hand early with an 878-749 win and took a 1-0 match advantage. Allison led the Bison, registering a team-leading 168.
In Baker total pinfall, the Blazers rolled past HU with a 924-698 victory and eliminated the Bison.
