NEW CASTLE, Del. (February 4, 2023) – Howard University women's bowling team finished Day One of the Griffin Classic with a pair of wins in Baker play.
HU opened the tournament with a victory over Felician, 842-741.
Howard struggled in the next three Baker matches, falling to Molloy (1,041-732), Coppin State (1,028-835) and No. 25 Merrimack College (858-760).
Despite the setbacks, the Bison finished strong with a 774-556 win over Holy Family.
On the day, HU went 2-3 overall with 3,943 pinfalls (157.7 average per match) and sits 17
th in the standings.
Sunday (Feb. 5), the Bison will compete in four baker matches before rounding out the afternoon with a best-of-seven baker final round. The action starts 9:15 a.m., at Bowlerrama in New Castle, Del.
