BALTIMORE (December 2, 2023) – Howard University men's swimming & diving team competed in the annual H2ounds Invitational, hosted by the Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds, where they placed second overall for the second consecutive year.
Collectively, the Bison tallied 870 points with several top finishes.
Senior
Tristan Stevens (Chicago) and Baltimore native
Taj Benton led the way with incredible performances.
The Bison duo were part of several relays, including the 200 Medley Relay squad that placed second in the event (1:29.83) while scoring 34 points. Graduate
Arion Solomon (Fairburn, Ga.) and senior
Mark-Anthony Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) joined Benton and Stevens on the podium.
Individually, Benton and Stevens earned silver in the 100 Fly (49.22) and 100 Back (49.91), respectively. Solomon also took part in the 100 Fly, placing fourth overall (49.68). The trio combined for 49 points.

Tai Afrik (Holland, Mich.) represented HU in the 400 Medley Relay where they grabbed third place (3:19.25), scoring 32 points for the Bison.
The 200 Free Relay team (Afrik, Benton, Solomon & Stevens) produced a 1:22.91 mark, earning third place and recording 32 points.
On the board, junior standout
Jordan Walker (San Antonio) racked up 241 points in the 3-meter dive and 242.65 points in the 1-meter dive, respectively. The third-year Bison placed second and third, respectively, while registering 33 points.
Loyola won its home event, tallying 1,359 points.
On Dec. 17, HU closes out the 2023 portion at the CSCAA Open Water Championships in Miami.
