RICHMOND, Va. (November 5, 2023) – Second-year Bison
Cameren Sullivan (Chicago) led the Howard University women's bowling team to a fourth-place finish at the Virginia Union Invitational, hosted by the Panthers, after winning the individual crown.
The Chicago native recorded 970 pin falls while averaging 194.0 in five traditional matches, including a 209 in the victory over conference rival Coppin State (CSU), 812-708.

Sydney Allison (Ypsilanti, Mich.) placed sixth in the individual standings, knocking down 889 pins in five traditional games. The Michigan product averaged 177.8 with a game-high 233 in the loss to No. 23 Delaware State, 852-912.
For their efforts, both Bison were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
After opening the tourney with a pair of wins against Virginia Union (VUU), 927-732, and Virginia State, 831-502, Howard kept the momentum going on Day Two with victories over CSU, Elizabeth City State, 833-556, and VUU, 813-720.
On the final day, HU dropped a tough seven-game Baker match to Fayetteville State, 3-4, but rebounded with a swept against CSU, 4-0. In the last match, HU battled, but fell again to the Broncos in five, 1-4.
On Nov. 11-12, Howard goes to Gwynn Oaks, Md., for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Meet No. 1, hosted by Coppin State.
