NORFOLK, Va. (October 9, 2023) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its football weekly honors where Howard University senior defensive back
Carson Hinton (Detroit) earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement came Monday evening.
In Saturday's contest at Big Ten opponent Northwestern (Oct. 7), the Detroit native registered a game-high eight total tackles (six solos), including two tackles for a loss of 15 yards.
This season, Hinton leads the Bison with 29 total tackles (20 solos), which ranks fourth in the conference.

Eden James (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) received honorable mention after rushing for 177 yards on 21 carries with a TD against the Wildcats.
North Carolina Central quarterback Davius Richard was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Week while fellow teammate Torricelli Simpkins III received Offensive Lineman of the Week accolades.
Howard travels to Cambridge, Mass., to take on No. 19 Harvard Saturday (Oct. 14) at 1 p.m.
