BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (January 19, 2023) – The Northeast Conference (NEC) unveiled its swimming & diving weekly accolades where Howard University senior swimmer
Miles Simon (Atlanta) and sophomore diver
Jordan Walker (San Antonio) claimed conference honors again after their performances against UMBC (Jan. 14). The announcement came Thursday afternoon.
Simon (Atlanta) won NEC Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season while the Texas native picked up his fifth league Diver of the Week award on the year.
Simon led the 200 Free Relay squad to victory after leading off with a time of 20.51, which is tied for sixth in the NEC. Individually, the Atlanta product grabbed a pair of wins in the 200 IM (1:53.84/2
nd fastest in the league) and 100 Back (50.13/5
th best in the conference).
For Walker, he finished runner-up in the 1-meter dive, producing a 226.25 score, and took fourth overall in the 3-meter dive (205.05 score).

Luke-Kennedy Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas), junior
Michaela Spears (Chicago) and sophomore
Zaylie-Elizabeth Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) were named to the NEC Prime Performers list.
St. Francis-Brooklyn's Valentin Schnerman took home NEC Men's Swimmer of the Week while fellow Terriers' Abby Scruton and Boel Bergquist received the league's Women's Diver of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. LIU's Ella Johnson claimed the conference's Women's Swimmer of the Week.
The Bison close out their home slate Saturday, Jan. 28 as they host Catholic University on Senior Day at 1 p.m. inside Burr Gym Pool.
