WASHINGTON (March 23, 2022) – Howard University women's bowling team travels to Virginia Beach, Va., for the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship. The four-day event (March 24-27) is held at Pinboys at the Beach (1577 Laskin Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23451).
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
On March 24, the Lady Bison will face No. 8 Norfolk State in a six-game bracket match. The action starts at 2 p.m.
The winner of goes on to face No.1 seed North Carolina A&T Friday (March 25) at 9 a.m.
The tournament will be structured in the Mega Match format; this consists of a traditional five-on-five match, a five-game Baker match and three best-of-seven Baker matches. This structure will be performed for each match except the championship final.
Elimination matches will continue throughout the weekend and the final two teams will be decided Sunday (March 27).
The championship final will begin at 2 p.m., with a best-of-seven baker format. ESPNU will re-air the match Sunday, April 3 at 8:30 p.m.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The winner will receive an automatic spot in the 2022 NCAA Bowling National Championship tournament (April 15-16) in Columbus, Ohio.
