Fox, Williams Receive MEAC Weekly Recognition

DMV natives acknowledged for their outstanding performances at Norfolk State

NORFOLK, Va. (October 31, 2022) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its football weekly honors where Howard University had a pair of Bison acknowledged for their outstanding performances at Norfolk State (Oct. 29). The announcement came Monday afternoon.
 
DMV natives senior quarterback Quinton Williams (Upper Marlboro, Md.) and sophomore offensive lineman Darius Fox (Washington) received MEAC Co-Player of the Week and Offensive Lineman of the Week, respectively.
 
In Saturday's road win at Norfolk State (NSU), Williams ended the afternoon with four total touchdowns (three passing & one rushing). He went 17-of-22 in the air while racking up 57 rushing yards on nine carries.
 
For Fox, D.C. native graded out at 96-percent against the Spartans while playing a pivotal role in the offense. HU accumulated 460 yards of total offense, including 260 on the ground. On the afternoon, he registered six critical blocks and allowed no sacks in the win.
 
Williams and Fox spearhead the league's No. 2 scoring offense (28.4 ppg).
 
Junior Kenny Gallop, Jr. (Portsmouth, Va.) and rookies Aaron Bickerton (Bonita Springs, Fla.) and Eden James (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) each earned honorable mention.
 
North Carolina Central junior quarterback Davius Richard shared Co-Player of the Week with Williams. Morgan State senior cornerback Jae'Veyon Morton was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week while teammate sophomore kicker Beckett Leary earned Specialist of the Week honors. Delaware State wide receiver Rahkeem Smith was named Rookie of the Week.
 
The Bison take on North Carolina Central Saturday (Nov. 5) in a big showdown in Durham, N.C. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
