SMYRNA, Del. (October 29, 2022) – Howard University men's cross country team placed second overall at the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships in Smyrna, Del., hosted by Delaware State University.
Fifth-year senior Ayoade Adebiyi (Virginia Beach, Va.) took fourth place, clocking in at 25:58.1 while second-year Bison Tafari Stephenson (Bowie, Md.) rounded out the top 10 (27:00.4).
Sophomores Julian Lawson (Sewell, N.J.) and Marsellis Davis (Columbus, Ohio) finished 14th (27:35.4) and 15th (27:35.4), respectively.
For their efforts, all four Bison earned All-MEAC honors. The top 15 finishers were named All-MEAC.
Norfolk State (NSU) won their third straight title (15th overall).
NSU's Kenneth Giles was named MEAC Outstanding Coach while Gidion Sigei took home Outstanding Performance, posting a winning time of 24:38.8.
Howard focuses its attention to the upcoming indoor season.
