WASHINGTON (January 21, 2022) – Howard University men's and women's swimming & diving teams host Northeast Conference (NEC) rival Mount St. Mary's (MSM) Saturday (Jan. 22) inside Burr Pool. First race is slated for 1 p.m.

COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Effective January 15, 2022, in compliance with the District of Columbia's Vaccination DC policy, all guests ages 12 years and older are required to show proof of vaccination to enter Burr Gymnasium.
PLEASE NOTE: Burr Gymnasium will be operating at 50-percent capacity during events until further notice.
Guests age 12 and older must provide proof of having received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by January 15, 2022 to enter. For those taking a two-dose vaccine, Pfizer or Moderna, proof of a second dose will be required for entry beginning February 15, 2022.

MEET PREVIEW
HOWARD
HU will be competing in its first meet since Dec. 4.
Junior
Miles Simon (Atlanta) leads the NEC in a pair of categories: 50 Free (19.95) and 100 Back (49.05). Fellow classmate
Luke-Kennedy Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) tops the conference in the 500 Free (4:31.66).
Newcomer
Brenton Cooper (Baton Rouge, La.) ranks first in the 50 Fly (22.29).
On the women's side, sophomore
Isabella Fountain (White Plains, N.Y.) sits top 5 in the 50 Free (23.90) and 100 Free (52.59). Third-year Bison
Ileana Bocage (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago) ranks fifth in the 50 Breast (31.03).
MOUNT ST. MARY'S
MSM enters the weekend competing in its first meet since November.
Jacob Wallace spearheads The Mount, leading the NEC in two categories: 50 Breast (25.27) and 100 Breast (54.51).
For the women, Valeria Villagram sits second in the 50 Fly (25.78).
LAST TIMEOUT
On Dec.4, HU closed out the first half of its season at the H2ounds Invitational, hosted by Loyola (Md.).
Simon highlighted the weekend with a record-setting performance in the 50 Free. The Atlanta native posted a 19.95 mark while making the NCAA cut by .01. He also set new school benchmarks in the 100 Back (49.05) and 100 Breast (56.36).
Fountain set the tone on the women's side, breaking the 50 Free program record with a 23.90 mark.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Jan. 29, Howard finishes the regular season at crosstown rival Catholic. Meet time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
