LORETTA, Pa. (November 13, 2021) – Howard University men's swim team grabbed its first victory as a Northeast Conference (NEC) member, knocking off LIU, 143.50-118.50.
Overall, the Bison secured 10 first-place finishes, led by junior
Luke-Kennedy Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas).
On the afternoon, Thompson earned three wins in the 1000 Free (9:49.19), 200 Breast (2:11.57) and 200 IM (1:57.92). For his efforts, he landed in the program's all-time leaderboard for each category, sitting second, 10
th and eighth, respectively.

Miguel Davis, Jr. (Washington), juniors
Mark-Anthony Beckles (Chaguanas, Trinidad & Tobago) and
Miles Simon (Atlanta) and freshman
Brenton Cooper (Baton Rouge, La.) competed in the 200 Medley Relay where they won the event, clocking in at 1:34.05.
Individually, Simon won a pair of races in the 100 Back (51.84) and 200 Back (1:56.81) while placing sixth and fourth on the school's all-time list, respectively.
Beckles earned victories in the 50 Free (20.93) and 100 Fly (50.58), landing seventh and eighth all-time in program history, respectively.

Arion Solomon (Fairburn, Ga.) and sophomore
Spencer Miles (Lynchburg, Va.) took part in the 200 Free Relay, winning the event with the fourth-fastest mark in school history (1:24.07).
Solomon also competed individually in the 100 Free, finishing in first place with a 48.34 time.
Other notable performance included second-year Bison
Mark-Anthony Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) winning the 100 Breast with the ninth-best mark in program history (58.69).
Howard closes out the first half with the H2ounds Invitational. The two-day event (Dec. 3-4) is hosted by Loyola (Md.).
