WASHINGTON (January 24, 2020) – Howard University men's and women's swimming & diving teams travel crosstown to face local rival Catholic Saturday (Jan. 25) in a duel meet. First race is set for 2 p.m.

The men's team had a commanding victory Saturday (Jan. 18) at Burr Pool against Marymount, 171-33. Seniors
Kegan Ford (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago),
Noah Nicholas (Stone Mountain, Ga.) and
Maalik Nixon (Peachtree City, Ga.) all impressed in their final home competition. Both Ford and Nicholas placed first in the individual events of the men's 50 Free (21.49) and 1000 Free (10:31.59), respectively. Nixon and Ford also came in first for the 200 Medley Relay (1:37.20) with the help of freshmen
Mark-Anthony Beckles (Chaguanas, Trinidad & Tobago) and
Miles Simon (Atlanta).
The women's team also had an outstanding victory, 167-48, over Marymount on Senior Day Saturday (Jan. 18).
Leanne McMaster, a senior from Kingston, Jamaica, placed first in the 50 Free (25.23) while senior
Skylar Smith (Los Angeles) took home first place in the 100 Free (56.29). Senior
Andreas Weech (Nassau, Bahamas) teamed up with McMaster, Smith, and junior
DeAngela Fobbs (Upper Marlboro, Md.) to win the 200 Free Relay (1:43.04).
MEET PREVIEW
HOWARD
Both squads got back into the win column after sweeping Marymount on Senior Day (Jan. 18). HU men enter Saturday with a 5-2 mark (1-1 away) while the Bison women hold a 3-4 record (1-1 away).
CATHOLIC
Catholic returns to D.C. after splitting at Randolph Macon (Jan. 18). The men come in with a 5-2 mark, including a perfect 3-0 at home, whereas the women have a 4-3 overall record (2-1 home).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Feb. 2, Howard closes out the regular season at NJIT. Meet time is set for 1 p.m.
