WASHINGTON (January 16, 2020) – After nearly two months away from competition, the Howard University women's bowling team returns to action at the Northeast Invitational, hosted by Sacred Heart University. The three-day event (Jan. 17-19) takes place in Limerick, Pa.

On Nov. 15-17, the team competed in the Vernell Stallings Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T State University, where they finished in 10
th place.
Third-year bowler
Carolyn Williams (Glen Burnie, Md.) had an outstanding weekend, averaging a career-best 208.8 in six traditional matches, including three 200-games. The Maryland native rolled a career-high 267 versus Prairie View A&M University. Williams finished the day with 1,253 total pinfalls.
MEET PREVIEW
HU looks to get back into a rhythm quickly after nearly two months away from competition. This event is packed with several National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25 teams, including No. 1 McKendree University and No. 5 Vanderbilt University.
The event starts Friday (Jan. 17) with five baker style matches, followed by five traditional matches Saturday (Jan. 18). The weekend concludes Sunday (Jan. 19) with three best-of-seven baker style matches to determine final standings.
The weekend begins Friday at 10 a.m.
UPCOMING SEASON
On Feb. 7-9, Howard returns to Pennsylvania for the Golden Bear Classic, hosted by Kutztown University.
