WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Howard University celebrated the accomplishment of Senior wide receiver
Kyle Anthony. Anthony became the all-time career reception leader in Howard history, eclipsing the mark of 184 held by former Bison standout Gary "Flea" Harrell who played from 1990-93. Big plays in the second half wipe out a brilliant defensive first half, dropping a 28-6 tilt to the visiting North Carolina Central University Eagles, Saturday afternoon at Greene Stadium.
The defense held the Eagles to four punts, a fumble and a miss field goal in the first half.
The offense could not take advantage, punting 12-times, failing on fourth down twice and threw an interception.
The offense broke through on their last drive, driving 66 yards on nine-plays. Capped off by an eight-yard run.
Anthony led the charge with nine catches for 57-yards.
Quinton Williams threw for 105 yards, completing 15 of 23 passes and was sacked seven times.
Rodney Dennard and
Christian White recorded nine tackles each. White recorded a sack, forced fumble, and a QB hurry.
Howard was held to 39-yard rushing.
North Carolina Central held a 390-195 total offense advantage.
