GLEN BURNIE, Md. (November 10, 2019) – Howard University women's bowling team wrapped up the weekend sitting in seventh place after the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) meet, hosted by Coppin State.
HU went 6-6 in the three-day event, highlighted by a victory over #19 UAB Sunday Nov. 10).
Howard opened the tourney start in Baker matches, going 3-2 after day one with wins over Bethune-Cookman, 869-732, Morgan State, 878-769, and Florida A&M (FAMU), 977-925.
HU grabbed a pair of victories in traditional matches, defeating Norfolk State, 873-805, and Coppin State, 891-879.
Sophomores
Janae Bradford (Chicago) and
Jahnia Phillips (Elmont, N.Y.) led the Bison, rolling a 178 average apiece during traditional competition.
Howard finished the weekend going 1-1 in Baker Best-of-Seven matches. After knocking off UAB in seven, 4-3, the Bison suffered a 2-4 loss against FAMU.
HU (24-19) closes out their fall schedule in Greensboro, N.C. for the Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T State (Nov. 15-17).
