SMYRNA, Tenn. (March 18, 2018) – Coach
Ron Davis and the Howard University Women's Bowling team closed out its 2017-18 campaign at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt.
HU wrapped up the weekend with three best-of-seven baker matches against Texas Southern (TSU), Belmont Abbey (BAU), and Lincoln Memorial (LMU).
Howard took an early 2-0 lead against the Tigers, but TSU rallied to win the next four games to down HU, 2-4.
Trailing, 3-1, the Bison fought back and tied its match versus BAU after winning games five and six. Belmont Abbey regained the momentum and won game seven, 144-174, and the contest, 3-4.
HU took the first two games against the Rail Splitters, but LMU won game three, 154-157, to cut the match's deficit in half, 2-1. Howard bounced back and defeated Lincoln Memorial in five, 4-1.
Today, Howard saw seniors
Kristyn Mitchell and
Sydney Reece compete in their final tournament. Over the past two years, both Bison have been part of 73 victories.
Howard ends the year 28-68 overall and 9-15 in league play.
