SMYRNA, Tenn. (March 16, 2018) – Howard University Women's Bowling team began the weekend with a 1-4 start at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt.
HU was unable to sustain its momentum after their last tourney, dropping the opener against Maryville, 949-781. With the setback, Howard saw its three-match winning streak come to an end.
After losses against Monmouth, 903-828 and LIU-Brooklyn, 866-787, the Bison broke through for its first win of the tournament against North Central, 781-730.
Howard finished day one with a 962-780 loss versus Sacred Heart.
HU (26-62) looks to bounce back Saturday for traditional competition. The action begins 9:30 a.m. at the Smyrna Center.
Howard's five opponents include Sam Houston State, Youngstown State, Southern, McKendree, and Wisconsin-Whitewater.
