TOWSON, Md. (February 17, 2018) – After going winless Friday, Coach
Ron Davis and the Howard University Women's Bowling team bounced back and went 3-2 on Day Two at the James Brown Invitational. The three-day event (Feb. 16-18) takes place at Towson Lanes in Towson, Md.
Friday's segment consisted of five baker matches where the Bison went 0-4 on the day. Despite not picking up a victory, Howard found itself in ninth place after averaging 173.7.
HU kicked the day off with losses against Monmouth, 911-941 and Youngstown, 783-917. Howard made a sharp recovery with a high-match 910 during the bye, including two 200-games. They ended the day dropping matches against Caldwell, 914-938 and Chestnut Hill, 825-921.
Saturday's portion featured five traditional matches.
Junior
Shykeia Spinks averaged 186.40 with two 200-game performances, including 211 versus Wilmington (Del.). Freshman
Carolyn Williams posted a 186.20, with a high-game 223 against Mount Aloysius.
After dropping Saturday's opener against conference rival Morgan State, 847-869, the Bison bounced back with an 857-791 victory over the Wildcats.
Soon after, Howard fell against Fairleigh Dickinson, 871-1042, but finished the day strong with two consecutive wins against Felician, 941-928, and Mount Aloysius, 937-890.

HU continues the weekend with five best of seven baker matches at 8:30 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 18).
