NORFOLK, Va. (December 18, 2018) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its 2018 Football All-Academic team where 19 Howard University student-athletes were acknowledged for their academic success during the 2017-18 school year. The announcement came Tuesday.

Mukuka Kusaba (Arlington, Texas),
Ken Larkin (Cincinnati),

Antoine Murray (Miramar, Fla.),

"I felicitate our football student-athletes for maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average," said MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas. "I would also like to recognize the academic support staff, faculty, parents and coaches who have contributed to the academic and athletic success of these student-athletes."
Overall, the MEAC honored 172 student-athletes from its 10 football-playing institutions.
The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.
HU had eight more Bison join the all-academic team than a year ago. Last season, Anthony, Hudson, Kusaba, Petricca, and Sims each made the squad.

On Dec. 10, Howard announced
Ron Prince as the football program's new head coach. Last season, HU finished 4-6 overall and 4-3 in MEAC play.
