GLEN ALLEN, Va. (November 2, 2018) – Not finishing as high as they anticipated the last time on the lanes, the Howard University Women's Bowling team came back stronger than before in the first day of the Virginia Union Invitational, hosted by Virginia Union (VUU).
 
The action took place at the Bowl America Short Pump with five best-of-five baker matches.
 
Currently, Howard sits ninth overall among 19 squads after day one.
 
After dropping their opener to Fairleigh Dickinson, 952-823, the Bison pulled out a win against New Jersey City, 771-619.
 
With consecutive losses versus St. Francis (Pa.), 988-851, and St. Francis (N.Y.), 849-772, HU finished the day with their highest output in the 934-861 victory over Wilmington (Del.).
 
On Nov. 3, HU concludes the weekend with five traditional matches, starting at 9 a.m.
