WASHINGTON (January 19, 2018) – Coach
Nicholas Askew and the Howard University Men's Swimming & Diving team topped New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), 116-115. and Marymount, 169-27.
Freshman
William Smith earned the team's Golden Goggle, HU's most outstanding male performer of the meet, after winning the men's 100-yard breaststroke.
Sophomore
Noah Nicholas won the men's 1000-yard freestyle with a 10:34.05 mark and newcomer
Darrin Asphall finished first in the 500 freestyle (4:53.08).
Fellow classmate
Sidrell Williams claimed the top spots in the 50-yard freestyle (21.53) and 100 freestyle while junior captain
Alexander Barnes captured the men's 100-yard butterfly title (52.28).
HU men edged out the Highlanders in the final event of the night where Barnes, Williams, sophomore
Maalik Nixon, and junior
Mark McCluskey won the men's 200-yard freestyle relay.
On Jan. 27, Howard concludes the regular season at crosstown foe Catholic University. Meet time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
