RESULTSWASHINGTON, DC --- In its last meet of the season in the DC area, the Howard swimming & diving teams went crosstown to face the Catholic University Cardinals in a pair of dual meets Saturday afternoon.
Despite both Bison teams falling to CUA (M: 166.5-89.5 / W: 159-91), Howard was able to secure six event victories on the day.
Freshman
Marina Markous earned a pair of wins in the
200 Yard Breaststroke (2:30.19) and 200 Yard IM (2:17.71) while three fellow freshmen - KaSandra Kaplan (200 Yard Backstroke / 2:17.93), Farion Cooper (100 Yard Backstroke / 54.86), and
Alexander Barnes (100 Yard Butterfly / 53.91) - also claimed first-place finishes.
Junior
TJ Miller also finished in 1st place in the 50 Yard Freestyle, tying for the top spot with a time of 21.95.
Howard was also able to claim 17 second-place and ten third-place finishes in the 28-event meet.
NEXT UPThe women's team will close the regular season with a HBCU meet at North Carolina A&T on February 6 at 3 p.m. while both teams will head to the CCSA Conference Championships beginning on Wednesday, February 17.
