Kalen Johnson has been named both the MEAC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week and
Travon Hunt has earned the Defensive Player of the Week, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced yesterday.

A 6-1, 180-pound freshman from Pearland, TX, Johnson passed for four touchdowns and ran for another in Howard's 55-9 win over Savannah State this past Saturday.

In just his fourth start, Johnson completed 14 of 20 passes for 219 yards and no interceptions and he added 29 yards on the ground for 248 yards of total offense and five touchdowns.

Hunt, a 6-0, 175-pound sophomore safety from Lawndale, NC, had another outstanding day with 5 tackles, an interception and a fumble return for a TD.

Also receiving honorable mention honors was
Toree Boyd for his efforts in the win. The 6-4, 315-pound junior offensive tackle from Miami, FL graded out 92 percent on all blocking assignments as the Bison rolled up a season-high 352 yards of total offense.
