BALTIMORE, MD --- In the first meet of the new year for the Howard Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams, the Bison and Lady Bison traveled north to Baltimore to take on the UMBC Terriers in the UMBC Aquatics Complex.
Despite a pair of individual and team wins, the men's team fell to the Terriers 110-95 while the women's team dropped their match 101-86.
On the men's side, freshman Jared Miller claimed first place in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 53.96. In second place was
Matthew Calhoun, recording a time of 1:09.21.

Dante Williams & Kyle Adams won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a winning time of 1:41.47.

Ashley Douglas won the 50 Yard Freestyle for the Lady Bison, recording a time of 27.27, with freshman
Sydney Cooper not far behind her in second with a time of 27.32.

Janai Ederaine to take the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay after swimming a time of 1:48.47. In second place was the HU team of sophomore

Nandi Ross and freshman Rebecca Etienne with a time of 1:52.12.
Howard will return to action next Saturday when the team travels to Philadelphia for a dual meet with Drexel University.Â
