Howard Mourn the Loss of Former Howard University Baseball Coach

Funeral services for former Howard University baseball coach Charles Edward "Chuck" Hinton, Jr.  Hinton have been set for Tuesday, February 12 at the Ministry Center of the Baptist Church of Glenarden, 3600 Brightseat Road in Landover, Md. 
The viewing will take place at 9:30 am, tributes and remarks will follow at 10:30 am, and the
official service will take place at 11 am.
Hinton came to Howard in 1971 following an outstanding major league career.  He went on to coach for 28 years at the Hilltop and became the winningest coach in school history with over 500 career wins.
During his tenure, Hinton led the Bison to their first ever MEAC title and was responsible for the careers of former Major league standouts Milt Thompson and Jerry Davis.  Countless others have gone on to become leaders and professionals in all walks of life, including successful boxing promoter Rock Newman and award-winning sports broadcasters Gus Johnson and Glenn Harris.
Hinton authored a book "My Time At Bat" that was released in 2002.
