Complete GWC Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill.  – Five Howard University women's soccer players were named to the Great West Conference 2011 Fall Academic All-Conference list, the conference office announced.

Student-athletes selected for the honor must have a minimum cumulative 3.2 grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of their respective team's contests.

Junior Jordan Brown led the way academically for HU with a 3.88 GPA – the highest on the team. Also on the GWC Academic All-Conference list were juniors Cynthia Snyder, Brittany Peebles, along with sophomore Sydney Ross, and senior Chanel Bell.

Women's soccer guided the pack of Great West Conference sports with a total of 49 student-athletes earning All-Conference Academic honors.  Overall, 175 student-athletes were named to the list from 14 schools.  In addition to women's soccer, the GWC sponsors football, cross country and volleyball for the fall season.
