NAPERVILLE, ILL. -- Sophomore Chanel Bell (Goleta, Calif./Whittier H.S.) was named the Great West Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, the conference announced today.

Bell registered five saves in Howard's 2-0 win over East Division foe South Carolina State. She picked up her third shutout of the year in the victory.

Howard leads the Great West Conference's East Division with a 3-0-1 record while Houston Baptist is second behind Utah Valley (2-0-1) in the West at 2-0-2.

HU is back in action on Sunday against NJIT. Game time against the Highlanders is slated for 1 p.m. in Newark, N.J.
