WASHINGTON, DC --- The exceptional play of the Howard women's soccer team, which is closing in on a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) regular season title, has helped one of their own receive a bit of national attention.

Senior midfielder Nia Walcott is featured in the "Faces In The Crowd" section of the October 27, 2014 issue of Sports Illustrated.

Walcott - whose feature appears on Page 18 of SI's latest NBA Preview issue with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love on the cover - has had an outstanding season in 2014.

The Washington, DC native leads Howard (8-8-1, 7-1 SWAC) in goals (6) and scoring (13) and has won a pair of SWAC Offensive Athlete of the Week honors and a College Sports Madness SWAC Player of the Week award. The Lady Bison are currently in first place in the conference with a pair of games this weekend.

SI's feature references Walcott's efforts in Howard's first SWAC home games against Alabama A&M and Alabama State in early October.
