WASHINGTON, DC --- For her efforts over the weekend, Howard women's soccer senior midfielder
Nia Walcott earned a pair of weekly honors.
The Washington, DC native was named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and College Sports Madness named her its SWAC Player of the Week. The awards give the Lady Bison five weekly honors this season - Walcott was garnered three of them.
Walcott scored two of her team-leading six goals in a pair of conference matchups against Alabama A&M and Alabama State. Both proved to be game-winners as the Lady Bison improved to 4-0 in the inaugural run through the SWAC. Walcott's tally in the 17th minute of the AAMU game on Friday was the only score in Howard's 1-0 shutout of the Bulldogs and her 80th minute
score against ASU on Sunday broke a 2-2 tie to push the Lady Bison to 3-2 victory.
