Track & Field Looks to Make Noise at the MEAC Outdoor Championships

Bison look to cap off successful outdoor season with a pair of titles

WASHINGTON (May 11, 2022) – Howard University men's and women's track & field squads look to make noise at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships. The three-day event (May 12-14) takes place at Dick Price Stadium in Norfolk, Va., hosted by Norfolk State University.

Tickets are available through purchase by clicking here. An all-championship pass is available for only $25 and fans can also buy daily passes for $10 each day of the championship. Ticket sales will be done exclusively online.
 
MEET PREVIEW
 
Thursday's (May 12) action will get underway at 1 p.m., with the beginning of the men's decathlon and the women's heptathlon will start at 1:15 p.m. The first day wraps up with the women's 10K meters at 7 p.m. and men's 10K meters at 7:45 p.m.
 
The decathlon and heptathlon finish Friday (May 13) at 9 a.m. to kick off the day's action. Running events will start at 2:50 p.m., with the preliminaries of the women's 100-meter hurdles. The men's 3K-meter steeplechase ends the day at 6 p.m.
 
Championship Saturday (May 14) will begin at 10 a.m., with the women's pole vault, men's triple jump and women's javelin throw. Running events commence at 1 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay. The 4x400-meter relays will wrap up proceedings, with the women going at 4:35 and the men at 4:55 p.m.
 
Saturday's track action will be streamed live on the MEAC Digital Network on YouTube at 1 p.m.
 
After winning the indoor title, HU women look to win the outdoor championship for the first time since 1980. For the men, they are seeking their first-ever MEAC outdoor crown.

    • 400-meter hurdles
      • 56.32 (8th in the nation)
