NORFOLK, Va. (MAY 1, 2023) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its softball weekly honors where Howard University freshman Amelia Weber (Montclair, Calif.) took home the league's Rookie of the Week award. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
 
In the circle, Weber picked up a win and save in the doubleheader sweep versus Delaware State after striking out six batters in 9.2 innings of work. At the plate, she hit .429 with a stolen base.
 
On the season, she ranks among the conference leaders in batting average (.361/5^th) and wins (7/t-8^th).
 
Maryland Eastern Shore junior Ameenah Ballenger was named MEAC Player of the Week while Norfolk State's Cam Andersen received Pitcher of the Week.
 
Next up for the Bison, the team awaits the bracket for the 2023 MEAC Tournament, hosted in Norfolk, Va. (May 10-13).
