DETROIT, MI --- Despite standout performances from its top three goal scorers and tying its season high scoring mark, the Howard women's lacrosse team was unable to secure a victory in its final conference road game of the year.
The Lady Bison fell to fellow Atlantic Sun Conference (A-Sun) member Detroit Mercy, 23-15, on Saturday afternoon at Titan Field.
Howard (0-7, 0-5 A-Sun) was led by second-leading scorer
Jaymie Cox. The senior from Hendersonville, TN set a new season-high with six goals against Detroit (7-6, 4-1 A-Sun). Freshmen
Aria Williams (No. 1) and
Natia Warren (No. 3) tallied five and four goals, respectively.
On the season, Williams has scored 20 goals, Cox has 14 and Warren has 10.
NEXT UP: Howard will close its road schedule with a non-conference matchup with Delaware State on Tuesday, April 14. First draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
