Kyle Celestine and senior goalkeeper
Eric Hamilton were named the Sun Belt Conference's Offensive Player and Co-Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. The honors were the first awards received from the Sun Belt. In addition, Celestine was honored by College Sports Madness as their Sun Belt Player of the Week.
Celestine became the first Bison player this season to record a multi-goal game, scoring both of Howard's goals in a 2-1 victory over Georgia Southern on October 18. The win over Georgia Southern was Howard's first-ever in Sun Belt conference play and Celestine's goals came in the second half with the Bison facing a 1-0 deficit at halftime. He also played well in Howard's first win of the season, a 1-0 double overtime victory over ACC member Pittsburgh on October 14. Celestine, a freshman forward, is the current team leader in goals and points.
Hamilton made 15 saves with one shutout, a .938 save percentage and 0.46 goals against average while playing 104 total minutes in the Georgia Southern game and Howard's double OT victory over Pittsburgh - the Sun Belt's first men's soccer victory against an opponent from the ACC in conference history.
